The Downtown Plaza Park (Now Downtown CITY Plaza) reopened today
after months of remodeling. It is full of controversy. Trees cut down,
LOTS of cement, (Chico gets Hot in the summer and now we have a treeless,
mostly cement, park.) lots of money, and many delays.

The city wanted to retake the park from the homeless, and others. The new bandstand
(with its groovy, retractable copper cover) makes a great rain shelter for those who
may not have a dry place to get out of the rain.
