I made another trip to the pond to find the heron from yesterday's shot. It
was in the same spot. This time I had the car between me and the bird so that when I
eventually got out to shoot, maybe it wouldn't fly away so quickly. After a few shots from
inside the car, I quietly got out, extended the monopod and moved into place. It was at
the same time that two cyclists, the second singing at the top of her lungs, rounded the
corner and rode past the pond. The heron took off again and try as I could to catch it in flight,
I missed it.
