I loved the expressions on the faces of these kids and their interaction with the Archaic statues of Kleobis and Biton. These Argive brothers were sons of Cydippe, a priestess of Hera. According to legend, Kleobis and Biton ran 5 miles, pullling a wagon with their mother in it to the temple. The goddess Hera rewared them with the gift of death in their sleep without the bitterness of old age. The people of Argos commemorated the event with these statues, made by Polymedes in 580 BC.
