Eastern Meadowlark

Have you ever had the problem that you were too close? I was using my 500mm lens with a 1.7 converter and the meadowlark was too close. I didn't have room to back up on this shot. Eventually, I was able to back up, but he was in the tree more and his tail still didn't show. I've been shooting birds which come to my yard. I live in a rural area in a housing tract. I have two acres with one acre I left natural along a creek. I get quite a good variety of birds.

u r one lucky gal living where u r right in bird land. and to have a problem of a bird being too close . . . not many will have that pleasure. Nice shot.

Very nice, Carol. I've encountered the "too much lens" problem a couple of times. Last weekend I had a male Blue-gray Gnatcatcher that must have known the minimum focal distance of the Canon 600mm f/4L and 1.4x. It kept landing too close ...

I have never been toooo close, but I don't have that lens, but it's abeauty, a bit close, ahaha.lol.

Great close-up, well done. I've encountered that many times, either take the TC off or use an extension tube, that should do it.
