Red Breasted Nuthatch

This little darling was at my house for just a day. Last year I had one for seconds. Anyway, I was moving my birds feeders from their summer position to the front of the house. I had the feeders in my golf cart. As I was standing next to it, a chickadee flew in, landed on a seed feeder and flew off. It was no more than two feet from me. Then this RB Nuthatch flew in and took a seed. Boy did I get excited! I hung up the two remaining feeders. The nuthatch flew in to the peanut feeder and went to work. When I went past it to get my camera, I was hoping I wouldn't scare it away. Nope. It stayed for most of the day eating peanuts. I sat in a rocking chair near the feeder and it wasn't afraid at all. I was glad when it flew to a nearby bush so I could get some pictures off the feeder. I keep hoping it will return .
