Red (left) and White Admirals

I guess they don't call it a butterfly bush for nothing. Anyway, today was the first warm, sunny day we've had for days. We've had rain every day. Today, every butterfly around stopped in to feed. I had both these admirals, plus monarchs, viceroys, two different kinds of swallowtails, and a sphinx moth. I was supposed to be mowing the lawn, but then I saw the tiger swallowtail and ran to get my camera. Each time I tried to put away the camera, a new butterfly showed up. The swallowtails were battle-scarred and on their last legs, or maybe I should say wings since so much of their wings were gone. It was a banner day for butterflies!
