We were walking inside the rain forest following the trail along the stream from the Pha Kluay Mai campsite when this beautiful lizard ran over the trail and then just sat there like frozen.

Carrying the 1DmkIII with the 300/2.8 and a 1.4 converter I decided to give it a try despite the low light conditions. It was difficult to get a clear shot with all the vegetation in the way. Also getting the AF to lock on was difficult in this low light and I had to try several times before I got a lock on the eye. However the focus was spot on.

This was the best one at 1/25s. I pushed it 2/3 f-stops and did some quick processing to get rid of the background noise. The lizard itself has just a little noise reduction. Anyway this is how he looks like in natural light as nature presents him.
