Hard to tell how steep this trail is, but it is the toughest trail in the county with an average slope of 22%.

It is called the "Short Cut" because it pretty much goes straight up the ridge with few flat spots.

It has been blogged that it is a good hike if you finish the Shortcut in as many minutes as your age.
I guess I have a lot of years;-)

Fortunately, it was a breezy day for this long ascent.
