“There are more than 34 million new cases of new crowns (ie, COVID) in the United States, and all 50 states have new cases on the rise.” Reported by China News Service, Washington, July 16 (Reporter Sha Hanting) “According to Johns, USA Statistics from Hopkins University show that the number of confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the United States exceeded 34 million on the 16th local time, and the death toll exceeded 608,000.”

It’s interesting how Mainland China’s news media picked up on this fact; while US news media made no mention. With the routine US COVID “additional million” statistics having been dropped from being reported by the US news media after March https://pbase.com/britestar/image/171512562 , I independently verified the above CNS reported statistics by going to the John Hopkins (USA) web site.

Based on the timeline of this additional 4 million cases, it seems like the US has still been averaging 1 Million new cases of COVID per month since Spring first arrived. I didn’t realize this until now. To me, this fact is a bit scary since we are now once seeing the arrival of the Delta variants & a faster rise in COVID cases and hospitalization for severe disease. Spring into Summer 2021 has brought the US 1 Million new cases of COVID per month; even with protective vaccines being available!!!

According to John Hopkins, China (where the pandemic originated) currently has only 104,224 total COVID cases and 4,848 deaths. China population is 4.35 times the US population. However, China continues to rely on some of the strictest pandemic control measures in the world to control outbreaks. Due to the nature of Americans, the same kind of restrictions would never be possible in the USA. Thus to date, 18.45% of all Americans have been infected with COVID; making the USA the leader for the highest ratio of their residents being hit by this deadly virus. The USA also still leads the world for the highest number of COVID deaths.

Today, hundreds of Americans still are dying every day from COVID-19— nearly all of them unvaccinated. Although the USA has good and “safe” vaccines available, far too many Americans refuse to take a vaccination. Therefore, COVID and its mutations seem to be winning the war. If the virus is allowed to continue to mutate, current vaccines may eventually become ineffective & then, the entire world will all be back to where we started with no defense against this raging pandemic.

Suddenly, things once again look a lot bleaker for the future. This comes just after we were starting to see the proverbial “light at the end of the tunnel.” A bleak future is especially true for areas of the country with low vaccination rates: like where we live.
