I opted for the high definition touch screen on the new 15". Although a battery hog, that's what I've been using with my 13" Dell XPS (also outfitted to the max) for the past 3 years: http://www.pbase.com/britestar/image/15989784
I also have an older 17" Dell Precision http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/precn/en/workstation_precision_m6400_brochure.pdf
that is still going strong. This 17" may no longer be the latest & greatest (which it once was), but it does a good job with Photoshop. Unfortunately, it weighs almost 9 pounds and isn't super portable.
I opted to get the 15" Dell 5520 Precision because this mid size laptop seems to be a good marriage of the reliable Precision business computer line (and upgraded features) with my light-as-air & "wow" monitor XPS laptop.
From my research, a loaded 15" Precision has an edge over a loaded 15" XPS for Photoshop. That was why I selected to get the more expensive Precision over an XPS; which I feel are great laptops. My 13" XPS is now an older model (3 years), but that doesn't bother me. I don't try to keep up with the latest and greatest in computers because that would be a never ending (almost every 6 month) cycle.
When I "need" a new computer, I get the best that I can find for what I need. IMO, buying quality lasts. I hope to get as many years out of my new 15" Dell Precision as we have (and still are) getting from our 17" one. I LOVE how light weight the new 15" is for the size. I've been wanting a 15" laptop for years. However, I've held off because I also wanted "lightweight" like my smaller travel laptop. At just 4 1/2 pounds, here it finally is. My camera/lens combos weigh more.

No, it's not an Apple. I'm a PC girl by choice. Bailey, on the other hand, doesn't see any difference.
