Perhentian Besar Island
Perhentian Island comprises with two islands namely Perhentian Kecil and Perhentian Besar (In Bahasa Malaysia, Kecil means “small” and Besar means “Big”). For centuries, the island being named as Perhentian Island as fishermen from mainland Kelantan as well as Terengganu comes by and stopped “perhentian” over to have break and shelter themselves whenever there’s a storm. The islands situated at the north-eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia and approximately 20km off shores from the little town of Kuala Besut. Activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving & jungle trekking are widely being practiced. The island with white fine sandy beaches, turquoise and crystal clear sea water, fishes swim along with you throughout your snorkelling moment. You even can laze away in hammocks under shady casuarinas and it is still quite peaceful here.comment | share |
