The bright star in the lower left of this image is Sadr,
the central star in the constellation Cygnus. This region
is filled with glowing clouds of hydrogen crossed by darker
clouds which absorb some of this light. The two bright lobes
created by one such lane of absorbing gas form what is often
called "The Butterfly Nebula".
