Approaching Storm Over Pappy Elkins Lake
Thunderstorms and tornadoes can occur in January in Texas. This storm cloud
on January 20, 2010 seen in the distance from Pappy Elkins Lake was part of a
system of severe thunderstorms that moved across northeast Texas. Further east,
this storm system spawned approximately seven tornadoes in a path approximately
along I-20 in east Texas resulting in the worst January tornado outbreak in many years.
