Well I came upon a baseball fan
He was walking along the road

Going to join all the baseball fans
Going to Induction Day to set my soul free

We are star-struck, we are Hall of Fame bound
We are long-time fans of Tony and Cal
And we’ve got to get ourselves up to the mountain

By the time we got to Cooperstown
We were 75,000 strong
And everywhere there was orange and celebration
And I dreamed I saw Tony and Cal
Playing baseball in the sky
Turning into Hall of Famers
Above baseball nation

We are Padres, we are Orioles

And we’ve got to get ourselves up to the mountain

The 2007 Induction Ceremony crowd was estimated to be over 75,000...the largest ever. The previous record was in 1999 for Nolan Ryan, George Brett and Robin Yount. 50,000 attended the 1999 Induction. Our family also was present in 1999 as Nolan Ryan was my oldest son's favorite player. We came again in 2007 for Cal Ripkin, my daughter's favorite player.
