Sulaire

Seacliff

This is Seacliff harbour which is cut directly out of the sandstone, and is the smallest harbour in the country.
The longest side of the harbour is only 12m wide, and the entrance is only 2m.
The small fishing boat 'Sulaire' is named after the gannet which breeds on the nearby Bass Rock.

Really interesting! Looks a a safe haven, and so small! Now, how do they get down to the boat?

Very interesting harbor. It's quirky things like this that make a location interesting. Your town certainly has lots of these. V

Beautiful image, Bill. I wouldn't want to try getting in there in a high wind. V

A safe haven Bill. I guess it would need good skills to navigate in and out.

I guess there won't be any cruise ships parking in this harbor! :))
Helen Betts12-May-2014 18:21
Isn't that fascinating! Seems like not too many boats would fit in there at that width. Super capture, Bill.
