St. Helen's Chapel

Siccar Point, Scottish Borders

The standing remains of this old church are thought to date back to the 15th Century, although records suggest the original site dates to the 12th Century.
The church was abandoned in the late 1700's. The headstones are very worn but I could make out 1766 on one of them.
Hard to tell in this misty weather, but it is very close to the edge of the cliff.

A great, forlorn mood in this excellent composition. Texture on the stone is excellent as well.
