Tarawa 38

Kiribati, Central Pacific

As I drove down the sandy road to the north side of Buota, I passed by this young girl struggling under the weight of the load of pandanus fruit she was carrying. Walking in front of her was her brother (he looked like her twin as they were the same height). It seemed like they had been out collecting the fruit together, but she was doing all the hard work getting it home.

The kind of fruit the girl was holding was mainly used as refreshment of a kind. Kids collect those kinds of fruits when they go out playing. I used to do that when I was young because these fruits just grew abundantly everywhere.

beautiful picture, she is do beautiful and look like so inocent... she brought back to me my maternal instint, she s me remember my kids when stil young. When I see things like this, I think to myself: -I am so happy because I live in a western society, if I had been born in this kind of paradises I could live like the poor girl, but I think she is very happy because she do not any other kind of life. God bless the por child and alsothe others like her...
