This shot shows the detail of the hexagonal basalt columns and how they were stacked to form the retaining walls. Some of the columns are up to 5 metres in length and weigh 4-5 tonnes.

identical to other structures found on islands throughout the south pacific who built the other ones on islands that are hundreds even thousands of miles away its mystifying.
