Sitka Lutheran is the oldest Lutheran Church on the West Coast of North America, founded in 1840 by Finnish Lutherans working for the Russian America Company.
As you can see from the pavement, another typical rainy day in SE Alaska.

This is NOT the Lutheran Church in Sitka, AK. It is the Russian Orthodox Church, one of the primary tourist attractions. At one point in its history it burned and the citizens of Sitka were able to save the precious icons that you can now see in the church when you visit.
