Michelle and I just got back from a great vacation at Kiawah Island and Charleston in South Carolina. We did lot of walks on the beach, birding, biking, playing in the waves, and eating vast quantities of seafood and ice cream. Some of the birds we found included Piping, Semipalmated, and American Golden Plovers, Sanderlings, Whimbrels, Willets, Ruddy Turnstones, Black Skimmers, and Brown Pelicans. We also had alligators in the canal beside our villa. The weather was almost perfect and being the week after Labor Day there were very few people on the beach.
