****I see no date on this series, so I assume you made it some time ago, during a time when you were struggling with health issues. Now that you are feeling better about yourself, you can look at this series and learn much from it. I am thrilled that you say you are healed, Jen, and that you now have the strength to share this series with all of us. It is an intimate and deeply personal struggle you show us here. The images are brilliantly sequenced, moving down as your mood and anquish becomes more intense. Each image adds to the other -- there is no redundancy whatsoever. The cumulative effect is overwhelmingly painful. For you and for me, and for anyone who looks at it. The language of the hands carries the concept from frame to fame, beginning with self-doubt and ending cradling what could be a child which is not there.There are many who will cry inside when they see this series, Jen, I know how important it must have been for you to work this out of yourself in this way. Photography as self-therapy can be a liberating and enlightening process. You have certainly been using it here. These images are not staged for the camera. They are real, intimate, and deeply personal. I feel honored that you wish to share these with us, Jen, communicating your anguish and the same time crying out for help. I know that you have since received that help, and I am happy that you are now sound in both mind and body. When you can look at these pictures and no longer hurt, you will know that all of this is now behind you.
