Amazing. My brain says two things: Shark! But also I am impressed with the mix of traditional kites and modern city.

Phil said it all. I will simply remark on how potent is the minimalist treatment of your capture.

Hoho, Hello Jennifer.
I'm always impressed by your "true" photorgaphy. "True", because we always see in it the real life people, that you dip in a sweet poetry.
I don't remember if I already leave a comment here, but this time I'm personnaly touched by this picture. It remembers me when I went in Shanghai... I have also those "spying Bund Kites" on my gallery. Thanks to you for the sweet memories...

I am with Phil...but for me this is about escape from the grime of the city below...a pass time that is popular in Shanghai and is a form of escapism. K

****Another iconic image from Jen. A year ago, you would have been content to make just a striking image of Pudong's skyscrapers, an array of burnished golden spears soaring into a late afternoon sky. But at the end of 2005, you bring ancient and modern China together in an incongruous juxtaposition. As hard as those modern skyscrapers, representing contemporary values, try to soar, they will always be anchored to the ground. Yet these fish, which represent nature and eternal values, fly free. What does that tell us? This image is not only strikingly incongruous - it is also asks questions and demands answers. It makes us think instead of just look.
