Well as usual Phil says it all. I was struck first by the imbalance in the picture that creates the tension between the two reflections. Large and small, tense and clam....but also heart and mind. Becasue that is where the two images appear. The battle between heart and mind Jen. That is what this is...K
****I love this self portrait, Jen. It is more than just a gimmicky reflection shot. Your body acquires the same fluidity as the sculpture you are photographing. Even the flow of your arm echoes the flow of the figure's shoulder. You seem to be almost meditative in attitude, totally absorbed by what you are doing, and absorbed, too, into the body of the figure. The fact that you appear twice in this image adds another layer of meaning -- there are two totally different Jens appearing within the body of the figure. The bottom Jen is careful, calm, and full of thought. The top Jen is twisted and bent and squeezed. Which is exactly what photographers must eternally deal with -- ups and downs, pressure and peace, calm and tension. A very expressive self-portrait.
