On the left the new Gate leading to the Inner Castle. It spans the now empty moat and used to have a drawbridge.
On the right the unusual five sided defense tower dating from the 13th Sentury. The original entrance, now filled in, can be seen where the double windows are.
The tower originally contained a prison in the basement, and above that a chapel and defenses. The top story now empty, was added in the 16tth Century.
In the foreground an old well and trough, used for both man and beast.
