This 90 acre site at Southwater, a mile or two south of Horsham, was created from a former brickworks which closed in 1981. The park was opened in 1985. It has 3 lakes, easy-going walking paths, an adventure-style play area, fishing, an orienteering course and canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. It is a beautiful wildlife area, and has 'The Quarry' area, which is managed for nature conservation and supports wildlife such as lizards, kingfishers, nightingales and various butterflies and dragonflies. The adjacent Downs Link bridleway passes through the park, making it a base to explore further afield on foot, bike, or horse.
