Upon leaving San Miguel, we first went north before heading for Portugal, because, when we would approach the coast we would be faced with winds out of the north and a strong southerly current. One night Chitauqua heard another yacht calling a ship on the VHF radio and after he finished talking with the ship, Don hailed him. They boat asked him if he knew of a boat called Tamure!! It was Carl and Perri on Kukara, with whom we had sailed all through the Pacific, Indonesia, Southeast Asia and the Red Sea back in 1988 – 1990. We had not seen them since we left Cyprus almost 13 years earlier.
