Obviously this was taken before the b@stard that is the COVID 19 virus came along. The first stop in our evening tour of the Louvre is, of course, the Mona Lisa. I THOUGHT that we had arrived there fairly quickly, but the time stamp on the shot before this was 19:07 and the time of this shot is 19:33, so it took a bit of time. Of course, the Louvre itself is huge so getting from A to B is never fast unless B is right next door.

There are some things that humans seem pre-programmed to do. If you're in city X you HAVE to go and see thing Y. If you're in country A you HAVE to try dish B. The fact that you may not be otherwise interested in thing Y or dish B is not relevant, you HAVE to do it! This often makes the crowds more interesting than the subject itself. (Which is certainly the case for me with the Mona Lisa, but I'll come back to that.)

As indeed is the case here. Look around this picture. Try to find one single person who is actually looking at the painting. It's more about "being there" than it is about really BEING there, although the surprising thing is that in this shot at least I can't see any selfie takers.
