I keep seeing posts from the northern hemisphere about their summer.
Stuff summer, I say, I hate it and its accursed heat and humidity. Give me instead the ability to sleep comfortably during a chilly night, and awakening to crisp, clear mornings. Give me the gentle, pure light that we see here, with the ocean breaking on the beach beyond, driven in part by winds which have purified the air.
Give me enough warmth for people to head out into that surf to paddle board and surf, not that I would ever be insane enough to do such a thing, but that has nothing to do with the temperature.
And give me a Sunday morning breakfast of Eggs Benedict, juice and coffee at the beachside cafe, looking out over the ocean.
Winter in the Illawarra... yesss!
