Open Star Cluster M50. This star cluster is in the southern parts of Monoceros, a little to the north and east of the bright star Sirius. M50 itself is nearly 3,000 light years from Earth. The pretty star colors range from blue to red to golden.
Starlight Xpress HX916 Takahashi FS 60-C piggybacked on LX200, unguided. Subexposures 120 seconds, unbinned 1x1. Astronomik Type II IR-blocked filters. LRGB = 60:30:30:30. Acquired in AA 2.0, processed in AIP4WIN and AA 2.0. Artificial flats applied to all channels.
