My Mother and her Tattoo

In 2000 my mother was 74. Her dream was having a tattoo. If nowadays it is quite common, 17 years ago it was not so usual, particularly for a lady at her age. She lives in Porto Alegre and my place, Florianópolis (500 km north) has a much more 'beach' athmosphere. Tattoo places were - and still are - very common here. Then, it was the right place and, apparently, I was the right son to help her on that desire. We went to a Place called 'Barra da Lagoa' and I contacted Leco, the tattoo artist. My daughters, Fernanda and Eduarda (17 and 13 at the time) came with us. I took several pictures of this 'event'. Sending one of them to the 2000 annual Popular Photography contest, I was extremely lucky on having a First Price with the picture.
