Seller's Description: Purchased from the original owner in 2003, sympathetic restoration completed in 2005. Car was complete and rust free. Parts were replaced, re-painted or re-plated only as necessary. For example we only replaced portions of the seat that were torn. Both trunks have original seam sealer and received paint only. Rockers and “hell hole” were never worked on, just painted. Floorboards have never been touched, not even painted. Body never cut or modified.

Major work completed: Restoration by Ray Stevens, factory trained 914 mechanic. Rebuilt top end with Carrera chain tensioners. Rebuilt transmission, new clutch. Rebuilt suspension with 140# rear springs, 19mm front sway bar, Bilstein HD shocks. Rebuilt braking system. Rebuilt pedal box. Rubber body seals replaced. Repaint by Advanced Auto Refinishing in single stage Glasurit. Interior work by Tony Garcia (formerly with Autos International). Wheels refinished by Weidman’s Wheels. The cost today for this quality of work and the parts would be extremely high and that’s if you can find people to do it. The mechanic has retired and the paint shop is no longer taking restoration work.

The car is solid and tight. Doors close the way they should and panel gaps are perfect. Engine pulls strongly in every gear. Shifter is as precise as a tailshifter can get.
