This is a very original 1970 Porsche 914/6 in desirable signal orange. It is numbers matching: VIN# 9140431276 and engine #6404796. This car has 116,500 original miles. It is mechanically perfect. It never had any wrecks/damage. It does not have any rust. Though there are 2 minor areas where there is bubbling under the paint, but these are one of those local areas of rust. Underneath, the car looks great. The sills, floors, front pan are all rock solid. The car has been repainted once. I would rate the paint 8/9 out of 10. The front and rear trunk, engine compartment, and doorjambs are still original paint and still looks fabulous. The gapping is great. The doors, front trunk, rear trunk all shut like a vault. Typical German engineering! The spare tire is the original Semperit “made in Austria” tube tire! The rear bumper has 2 areas where the chrome has flaked off, exposing the metal underneath, which has now created a bit of surface rust. I would recommend the new owner to get the rear bumper re-plated in the near future. Just to show how original this car is, this car still wears its original Cibie sealed beam headlamps up front!! The interior is all original. Even the original leather steering wheel has never been reupholstered. There are a few tears in the driver’s seat and one tear in the passenger seat. It still has the original factory footrest. Included is the original toolkit, but the pouch has been replaced with an aftermarket one, but the tools are still original. The original jack is included. The engine is all original in its original spec. Has original Weber carbs. The clutch linkage is new. All 4 brake calipers have been rebuilt. It brakes very good and straight now. All syncros are perfect. Its shifts smooth as butter. Clutch is good. Engine runs very strong. It does not smoke on start-up! Nor does it leak oil on the floor of my garage! Overall, I consider this car a very nice driver. It is not a concours car by any means, but a car to hop in and drive. The car has been very well maintained during its life. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. Its gets a lot of thumbs up. The color couldn’t be any better. All in all, if you are looking for an all original 914/6, look no further.
