NP Restored

The shocks are now back from Truechoice after their restoration https://pbase.com/image/157262932 and Bill at Trouchoice did a really nice job on these units. All the seals and related internal components were checked or replaced, a new coat of paint to the bodies https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/157054226 and new decals applied https://pbase.com/image/157262936. The shafts were also cleaned and polished https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/157262941. After all is said and done, the shocks are tested and performance graphs generated https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/157262919.

At some point in their life, these shocks were modified by removing their factory stock rubber bushings and steel inner-sleeves https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/154766173 and replaced with ball-bearing type pivots https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/157262939 (before pix https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/156150289) in an effort to improve the suspension performance, albeit at the cost of a hardsher ride to the driver. Because I already have other pairs of the very same shocks which to this day remain completly original https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/154766141 and unmodified https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/154766192, I decided to keep the bearing modification done to these shocks as they are. After all, someone went through a lot of trouble to change them https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/157262939 and I found it irresistible having the option of being able to use them. At this point I'm also curious to compare 'if' and how the bearing performance mod would work to improve the handling and suspension response while driven on the street.
