"Stabilized at nearly $200,000"... Really???" Please....

A very original and well restored 914-6 today commands close to, or over $100,000, and that's just a factory six with nothing special. If I read this correctly, the article says a 914-6 GT (assuming it is NOT a recreation with a bunch of after-market accessories) has "stabilized at nearly $200,000"? I'm not sure where the data came from used to support that statement, but I can personally assure you and can say that the last two "914-6 GT" cars that sold within the last twelve months exchanged hands at, or nearly $500,000. Let's go back 12 years, and maybe, maybe I can point out to you a legitimate "914-6 GT" sale at just over $110,000 (The Bozanni Alan Johnson GT to be exact. BTW, the same GT just sold in France in early 2015 by a dealer for nearly Euro 400K.

As stated in that article, the "914-6 GT" cars, with so very few samples made, not many actually get to exchange hands over the years. I have actually spent a significant amount of my personal time monitoring most worldwide sales of these GT cars and I'm very surprised by that low-ball $200,000 market value statement. In fact, you may be able to build a respectable 'replica' 914-6 GT car for close to $150K-$200K, all depending of the number of OEM GT parts used, but please don't take my word for it, ask anyone that's actually done it and has opened up their wallet to pay for it.

In closing, I will like to hear about any 914-6 GT that was purchased at around $200K within the last three years that was 'real' and doesn't also need $150K+ of 914-6 GT in OEM parts and restoration work. Love to see that.

2006 Sale - 914-6 GT Replica: Sold $125,000 - Plus, the new buyer spent over $25K more modifying the car and installing a 100L fuel tank - See here

2010 Sale - 914-6 GT Dealer Built: Asking Price $350,000 (sold at or close to that) -

2014 Sale - 914-6 GT Factory Built: Sold Euro 500,000?

2015 Sale - 914-6 GT Factory Built: Classic Driver, a dealer was asking Euro 400,000, GT sold within hours after that
