Early Race Seats

Early race bucket, appears to be a Scheel, circa 65-66. I'm thinking of just doing a light restore, not necessarily replacing any of the material and mostly focusing on cleaning. The small square metal bracket held in place by the slotted screw https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/144514934 I'm sure served a purpose at one time and I wonder exactly what it was for. This section of the vinyl can be repaired without having to replace the entire section so not to disturb the patina or originality of the seat.

Note the interesting hand activated rubber air-blower, used to inflate internal bladders within the seat for further adjustment to the driver, and I won't say a word about the seat adjustment lever (WTFIT!??)
