Male adult eagle in grill of truck

We got this adult eagle on June 15, 2012 from the CO officer Ted Dremel. Ted got the bird out of the grill of a truck and met us at the Wolf River vet clinic for x-rays. Dr James Zielger found no broken bones, just severe head trauma. When home at the Feather the bird threw up for two days and was very quiet and docile. After three days things began to change. More active, tried to fly. Within one week he was up on the perches and doing great.
John Faucher brought him live fish, even trout. He preferred rodents, go figure.

On July 15th Dr. Jim had the honor of release. The bird had a great attitude and wanted away from us as you can see by the photos. '

Sure wish we would have had the name of person that found the bird in his truck grill, we would have wanted him to be there to see the bird released.

The person that had the bird in the front of his truck was found and he gave us the rest of the story.. He was on Hwy 10 going some 65 miles per hour when he saw the eagle fly over his truck, he thought how cool is that. Within seconds the bird came across in front of him and he hit the breaks, the bird hit the grill at some 60 miles per hour. See below for the new photos of the eagle in the grill.................

It is had to believe that from the grill of the truck photos to the release that this creature could possibly make a release. Hats off to the driver of the truck, Brian, for stopping and doing the right thing.
